Make your songwriting dreams a reality.

Write it.

A good song begins with good writing. I walk my students through the process of shaping their songs by working with them throughout the writing process; using exercises to help my students find their voices, providing feedback on lyrics, and concise guidance on writing a melody and chord progression.

Record it.

Once a song is written, we can begin to consider the arrangement and recording. I offer services ranging from basic feedback, to more detailed guidance, to full-service music production.

Release it.

We will start every project with a Goal to ensure that your music gets released. Whether you come to me with the goal of a single, a 3 song EP, or a full album, I will be there along the way to keep the process moving smoothly and make sure we don’t get stuck on any steps.

Custom Packages Available.

Every project has different needs. Some students like setting up weekly lessons, whereas some prefer to schedule as-they-go based on their own life availability.

I have found that it’s important to have some kind of consistency and routine in mind so as not to lose sight of the end-goal. When we first discuss your project, we will aim to find a routine and schedule that fits nicely into your life but keeps you on track to achieve what you want to achieve.

Base pricing for 1:1 songwriting coaching begins at $1.25/minute ($75/hr). Full service music production is an additional cost and is priced differently.

FAQ

What does “Songwriting Coaching” include?

  • Every projects needs vary slightly, but at its core, songwriting coaching should:

    • Provide you with constructive criticism & feedback on your songs

    • Assess strengths and weaknesses

    • Help you set goals (writing and performing, if applicable)

    • Challenge you with songwriting assignments and exercises intended to grow your songwriting skills

    • Assist with production (if desired)

    • Establish an outlet for your writing

Do you ever do co-writes?

  • Yes, I do! I typically only co-write with established artists. Find out more here.

Will I need to credit you as a songwriter?

  • Usually, no. I am pretty careful about that. My goal as your coach is to guide you and help you find your voice by challenging you with writing exercises, introducing music theory and songwriting concepts as needed, providing you with feedback and constructive criticism, and pushing you to explore your writing. The finished project will be yours alone. If you are genuinely interested in co-writing, we can discuss that as an option.

Can you help me find performance opportunities?

  • The degree to which I can help with performance opportunities depends greatly on your location. But I will certainly help if I can, and we can discuss what that looks like.

Will we only be working within our 1:1 songwriting sessions? $75/hr seems expensive.

  • No. The majority of your work will be done outside of our sessions. Our sessions are an opportunity for you to present what you’ve done, ask me questions, and for me to introduce songwriting concepts and feedback to you.

  • I also work outside of our sessions. I prepare our lessons beforehand, write out detailed feedback and critiques, and make myself available to you via text and email. So while I charge $75/hr for our 1:1 meetings, you are typically getting significantly more of my time.

  • Remember too, that your productivity level will largely define my own. The more responsive you are to my assignments and feedback, the more responsive I will be as well, and the further your dollar will stretch. If you are on a budget, we can set up a lesson goal at the start of the project to make sure we stay on track.
